Pauly Shore’s Lawsuit Against Brother Peter

Pauly sued Peter in December 2009, alleging that Peter unjustly removed him from the family company’s board and raising concerns about potential elder abuse of their sick mother, Mitzi Shore.

According to legal filings, Pauly contends that his mother, Mitzi Shore, afflicted with Parkinson’s Disease, has been “rendered susceptible to unscrupulous behaviour and other undue influence because of her condition.”

Pauly alleged that, with their mother’s health deteriorating, Peter “took unfair advantage of his filial relationship with Mrs. Shore and her mental capacity to coerce Mrs. Shore into removing (Pauly) from the company’s board of directors.”

Pauly, Peter, and Mitzi Shore were the sole Directors of The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, where Peter Shore was the CEO in charge of managing its daily operations.

The Superior Court complaint reports that Mitzi Shore is the club’s only shareholder.

Pauly claims that in November, he requested the company’s tax records, cash flow reports, monthly check register, and general register from his brother Peter for the years 2008 and 2009.

According to the complaint, Peter denied the request, hired Holland & Knight, and convinced their mother to oust Pauly as a director.

A rep for Pauly said, “This is a personal family matter that will be handled privately.”
