Art Sherpa Cinnamon Cooney Leaves Legacy In The Art Community

Rest in peace!

Art Sherpa, or Cinnamon Cooney, was an amazing teacher, a phenomenal artist, and a great mother, partner, and daughter.

She passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2024.

Key Takeaways

  • Cinnamon Cooney was an artist and a teacher.
  • Cooney had her website, which helped talented artists prosper in the field of art.
  • She passed away in her sleep. No cause of passing other than this has yet been confirmed.

Throughout her life, Cooney has always been a sunshine in everyone’s life. She was known for her bright smile, contagious energy, and knack for creativity.

Cooney did not keep her talents only to herself.

She created a community through her website, Art Sherpa, and her social media pages to encourage people with interests alike to follow their passion.

Cooney was a teacher and a helpful mentor to her students.

Likewise, Cinnamon never really let her work disturb the balance between it and her family life. She was a very dedicated workwoman.

Since she had posted on her social media a few days before her passing, her followers really could not suspect anything wrong with her health.

Moreover, Cooney’s family had at least expected her to pass away untimely. But on December 9, 2024, she passed away in her sleep.

It was totally unfortunate what had happened to the 54-year-old.

Her demise had been confirmed by her mother, Ginger Cook, through a heartfelt post that read,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share the devastating news of my beloved daughter, Cinnamon Cooney, known to so many as The Art Sherpa. Born on July 1, 1970, Cinnamon touched the lives of countless people with her extraordinary talent, warmth, and ability to teach art in a way that brought joy and creativity into homes around the world. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2024, and the cause of her d*ath is still unknown.
For the last decade, Cinnamon has dedicated her life to empowering others through art. Her YouTube channel, The Art Sherpa, became a beacon of hope, reaching over 745,000 subscribers and teaching thousands to paint. Her lessons were filled with kindness, humor, and encouragement, and she built a community of artists who felt like family.

She added,

Cinnamon is survived by her husband of 24 years, John Cooney, and their three beautiful children: Honey (20), Spider Jack (14), and Luna Bella (12). She loved her family fiercely and gave everything to create a better world for them and the artists she inspired.
As her mother, I can only say she was the kind of daughter every parent dreams of having—smart, funny, kind, and so full of love for her family and her community. Her loss leaves an unimaginable void in our hearts.
Cinnamon’s YouTube channel was not only her passion but also her family’s primary source of income. To support John and the children during this heartbreaking time, a GoFundMe has been set up on her website: https://theartsherpa.com. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to her family.
Cinnamon brought hope, joy, and inspiration to so many, and we will forever carry her light in our hearts. Thank you for your love, your prayers, and your support during this incredibly difficult time.

Her post revealed Cooney to be a light in everyone’s life. She was everything any of her family members could dream of.

Furthermore, she is survived by her husband, John, and children, Honey, Spyder, and LunaBella.

Cooney also had a close relationship with her children. Her creative influence helped the kids follow their passion for art as well.

In addition to this, each of her children had taken their mother’s quality for valuing individuality and, at a very young age, seems to have found themselves.

Her husband, John, had always been just as good of a sport in supporting her career as an artist and a mentor.
