Carroll Police Chief Tadd Bailey confirmed that officers responded to a report of vehicle vandalism just before 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The Coos County Attorney’s Office is now involved in the investigation.
In another video, police officers can be seen questioning two men about the incident, to which the suspect replies, “No.”
The suspect’s denial quickly falls apart in the face of Tesla’s “Gotcha Cam” footage, leaving little doubt about what transpired.
Legal Consequences & Backlash
Keying a vehicle can be classified as criminal mischief, but given the high value of the Cybertruck, the crime could result in felony charges in New Hampshire.
Social media users have called for Pelis to be fired from his position at ArmorCode Inc., based in West Newton, Massachusetts.
One comment read:
“Jim Pelis, who is the Regional Sales Director for ArmorCode, caught keying a Cybertruck. He denies it and then is told he is on Tesla Gotcha Cam! What a sleazebag… hopefully he loses his job and gets a hefty sentence!”

Many have also criticized the political motivations behind the act, with some labeling it domestic terrorism due to the targeted destruction of property based on perceived ideology.
As public outrage grows, many are watching to see if ArmorCode Inc. will take action against Pelis.
Given the high-profile nature of the case and the legal implications, it would not be surprising if the company distances itself from him.
At this time, no formal charges have been announced, but the Carroll Police Department and Coos County Attorney’s Office continue to investigate.
Given the clear video evidence, it seems likely that charges will be filed soon.

Such a childish and meaningless act. It does absolutely nothing to further your cause, whatever that may be.
