In response to the untimely demise of Steve Ehretsman, many of his loved ones are recalling the memory of the brave amputee and mentor and sending their heartfelt condolences to his family during his difficult time.

While little information about his family is available as he preferred to maintain a low profile, his father, Hal Ehretsman, is a former athlete who served as the high school basketball coach in Cleveland, Ohio, for over twenty years.

The Tragic Accident Of The Late Steve Ehretsman Became His Greatest Source Of Motivation

Steve Ehretsman’s tragic accident back in 2001 led him to become an inspiration to millions of amputees.

Back in 2001, when Steve Ehretsman was working as a director of marketing at Atlanta Beverage Company, he was involved in a tragic on-the-job accident and had his legs crushed in a car.

Moreover, Steve Ehretsman underwent several unsuccessful limb salvage surgeries, which led to a below-knee amputation.

Although Steve Ehretsman initially felt neglected and defeated, this also motivated him to change and improve the prosthetic industry’s standard of patient care.

In 2010, he became the Vice President of Business Development of ProCare Prosthetics and Orthotics, and in 2015, she founded Shamrock Prosthetics Inc. in the Athens, Georgia Area.

In 2011, he was named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 under 40 list of Rising Business leaders.

Furthermore, through Shamrock Prosthetics, Steve Ehretsman began helping millions of amputees by providing custom-made prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices tailored to meet clients’ specific needs.

Prior to founding his own company, Steve Ehretsman served as the director of new business development and sports account management of Blue Sky Agency for two years after his accident.

He also worked as the development officer of the University Hospitals of Cleveland, vice president of sales and marketing of Architectural Designworks, Inc., and fundraising consultant of 21st Century Leaders.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Steve Ehretsman attended St. Ignatius High School and Ohio University before earning his bachelor of science and communication degree from Boston University in 1996.

Moreover, while attending Boston University, Steve showcased his exceptional athletic skills and was a Division 1 student athlete and captain of the Boston University Basketball team.
