Alex Choi Parents Funded Him To Kick-Off His Social Media Career

Since his family is out of the limelight, many conspiracies about his parents exist!

YouTuber Suk Min Choi, aka Alex Choi, comes from a wealthy family with well-off parents who helped him start his automobile career.

Key Takeaways

  • Alex Choi was born to affluent Korean parents, who assisted him in his YouTube career.
  • Although the name and profession of his folks remain a mystery, fans often have out-of-the-box assumptions about them.
  • The YouTuber is facing a federal case after he was arrested over shooting fireworks at a Lamborghini in a viral video.

The vlogger was born in South Korea in October 1999 before moving to Los Angeles and first started posting car stunts on Instagram in 2016.

Since his family is out of the limelight, many conspiracies about his parents exist.

Criticizing him on a McLaren community page, one user said,

His parents are famous Korean actors; most don’t know that; it’s his YouTuber’s secret. So yes, that’s where the trust fund money comes from. The way he treats his cars and the video doesn’t surprise me.

Another one added,

“His parents also own a boatload of KFCs in Los Angeles.”

The third one joked, saying,

“His dad won a shitload of money in Squid Game.”

Whoever his parents may be, one thing that’s settled is that they’re rich, and Alex doesn’t hide this from his viewers.

Most of his fanbase likes him for his honesty. A follower commented on his YouTube video, saying,

I like that he admits he lives off his parents. There’s NOTHINGGGG wrong with that, like its not his fault he was born to a wealthy family that allows him to live that lifestyle. I dont like when they act like they came from nothing and try to be relatable to us, like just admit you came from a rich family lol. Like shoot, i wish i was born into a rich family lol

Likewise, another one followed,

“I love how honest Alex is about living off his parents; most people would never admit it especially when you’re famous and in front of a camera”

He Could Be Jailed For 10 Years

Alex Choi is facing serious federal charges over a YouTube video he made.

The video showed two women shooting fireworks from a helicopter at an expensive Lamborghini sports car.

The title of the video was “Destroying a Lamborghini With Fireworks.”

Authorities say Choi arranged this dangerous stunt in June 2023 without proper permission to shoot fireworks from a helicopter.

The charges include causing explosives or incendiary (fire-starting) devices to be placed on an aircraft, which is a major offense.

According to prosecutors, Choi bought the fireworks used in the video from the neighboring state of Nevada because they are illegal in California, where the incident allegedly happened.

While the video has been removed, investigators believe Choi’s actions were intentional and reckless.

In a recent court appearance in Los Angeles, Choi was released after paying a $50,000 bond. His arraignment (formal reading of charges) is scheduled for July 2nd.

If found guilty, he could face consequences ranging from probation to 10 years in federal prison at a minimum.

No one else has been charged or arrested for anything related to the video so far.

However, a spokesperson for the U.S. attorney’s office said the investigation is ongoing, leaving the possibility of more charges or arrests later.

  • Alex Choi’s estimated net worth is $5 million, while his parents’ net worth exceeds his wealth.
  • The San Fernando Valley resident has over 925K subscribers on YouTube.
  • Choi is currently 24 years old and was born in South Korea.
