Destiny Harris Goes To Jail After Four Years Of Unemployment Fraud

This is shocking!

After four years of having committed a crime, Destiny Harris got an uncalled knock at her door from the police, who had come to arrest her!

Key Takeaways

  • Destiny Harris had filed for unemployment during the COVID pandemic.
  • A detective had received and recorded all the acts of fraudulence from her and three other people.
  • Harris got arrested recently after four years of taking illegal PPP loans.

COVID-19 has caused several people to go unemployed. This had, however, led to another pandemic of people who were not unemployed to exploit the unemployment benefits, otherwise known as PPP loans.

PPP loan in the United States refers to Paycheck Protection Program that was started by the CARES act.

This loan was established with small businesses in mind and provides funds for eight weeks with additional benefits to the loan seeker.

Many would indulge in identity theft, while others would falsely use the benefits for their own good in illegal ways. This loan is basically 2.5 of the applicant’s average monthly payroll costs.

There had not been many who were caught, while those who were had been quite unlucky for themselves.

However, very recently, a culprit was found through the work of an invested detective. She was Destiny Harris.

Harris has not indulged in identity theft, but she used the unemployment benefits for herself during the global pandemic in illegal ways.

Destiny was caught red-handed and arrested with proof four years after her crime in 2024.

Destiny Harris Arrest 2024

True Crime released a video in which a woman can be seen crying and begging not to be arrested.

She had apparently been talking to her mother, who was, as seen in the video, quite clueless about what her daughter had actually done.

Destiny cried to her mom,

“I can’t go to jail mom.”

From what had been witnessed in the video, it could’ve been possible that the authorities had informed Harris’s mother about her daughter’s crime beforehand.

The mother, however, was cooperative throughout the arrest, even though she did not seem to know about the crime before the incident.

She responded to her daughter,

“I understand so. You have to go. I don’t know what’s going on but you can’t fight it September 13th, 2024.”

Although the video is a month older as of October 2024, its release seemed to have shocked many.

Someone who actually had also worked with solving similar crimes commented on the same video,

“I worked processing those frauds until January of this year. I warned folks NOT TO DO IT 😂 with your social security number I could see all the states you applied and got money from, all the transactions you did. and other accounts you transferred that money to lol S*it was crazy! My favorite calls were the ones when folks call cussing you out cause their cars isn’t working and you hit ‘em with the “your account was frozen because your social security number is showing on several states as receiving benefits, you can go to your nearest bank of america with two forms of ID” they would hang up the phone so quick lmao it was fun being a fraud agent 😂 i can write a book about that job lol”
