I first meet Dr Andrew Lock back in 2014 when I had a pinched nerve in my C4-C5 which was causing a loss of movement in my right arm, muscle wastage, pins and needles, numbness…I wasn’t in a good way. His wealth and deepth of knowledge of the human anatomy was incredible and ever since that day have looked up to him as a resource but also his down to earth and honest demeanour . Dr. Lock earned a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from La Trobe University in 1994.

In 2002, he furthered his expertise with a Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne.

He later obtained a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Health Sciences from the European International University – Paris.

His commitment to continuous learning took him across the globe, where he consulted and presented in Australia, the USA, New Zealand, South America, the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.

His clientele ranged from elite athletes and celebrities to the Australian Defence Force, a testament to the trust and respect he earned in his field.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Lock was deeply committed to education.

He co-founded United Health Education, an initiative designed to elevate the standards of strength and rehabilitation for professionals worldwide.

He was an Australian Youth Baseball Team member and competed in the Inaugural Junior World Series. He was also selected for the Australian All-High Schools Cricket Team.

As a powerlifter, he held multiple bench press records, including a World Record in the GPA SHW Masters category, along with Australian records in WRPF, CAPO, and GPC SHW Masters divisions.

He also served as an IFBB Pro League Judge, further solidifying his influence in the world of sports and fitness.

He left behind his loving wife, Julie Wong, a Pilates instructor and fitness trainer at Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre, and his cherished daughters.

Dr. Andrew Lock’s unwavering dedication to physiotherapy, strength training, and education has left an indelible mark on the health and fitness community.

His philosophy that “movement is medicine” continues to inspire those who were fortunate enough to learn from him.
