Hailing from Calumet City, Illinois, Gene attended Gavit High School, where he initially played basketball.

He later played college football, wearing shirt number 63 before switching to number 67.

Afterward, he attended Marian Catholic High School before transferring to Southland College Prep Charter High School.

In 2018, Gene was awarded the Certificate for attaining All-Conference from the Great Lakes Athletic Conference.

Following his graduation, Gene went on to Judson University on a football scholarship, where he played for the Judson Eagles.

He also served as a general bunk counselor on Freshman Hill in the summer of 2023 and was a group leader for the Super Senior Boys in 2024.

The legacy of Gene’s kindness, leadership, and dedication will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. May his memory give strength and solace to those who loved him.
