His greatest impact will be the memories that he helped shape for numerous students, faculty, family and friends as a result of his contributions ot the arts at Austin Prep.”

Austin Prep family further expressed their sorrow at losing one of their kindest and cheeriest teacher, Stephen Williams, and wrote:

“While news like this is never easy, Austin Prep’s strength is our community, and in our most challenging time,s we will come together in unitas.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I spent my 4 years at Austin prep with him as my chorus teacher, and he made me feel so confident in myself and my singing. He pushed me to keep trying and even when things got hard, and is the reason why I was able to get accepted to Berklee College of Music. He was the kindest and most beautiful soul and such a musical genius and I will never ever forget the impact he made on my life. Rest in the sweetest peace Mr. Williams. ❤️”

“Mr. Williams deeply affected my daughters and they will never forget him. He was both a musical mentor for them and a role model to being a good and gentle soul. He will be so very missed by my family and we will pray for him and his family. 🙏”

The late Stephen Williams Joined Austin Prep In 2008

From 2008 until his last breath, the late Stephen Williams showcased his exceptional teaching and musical skills, guiding thousands of students to excel academically and musically at Austin Prep.

Moreover, the late Stephen Williams was the director of the Austin Choir and the Music Director for theatrical productions at Austin Prep.

He also taught courses in vocal repertoire, composition, and music theory and was a Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society member.

For over twenty years, the late Stephen was the music director and accompanist for a collaborative of parishes in the southern region of the Archdiocese of Boston.

He earned his master’s degree in music from the New England Conservatory of Music, where he received the 2006 NEC Beneficent Society Scholarship.

Furthermore, Stephen Williams appeared as tenor soloist with the NEC Chorus and Chamber Singers, the Boston-based octet Vox Consort, which presented one-per-part performances of Bach’s Mass in B minor and Magnificat, and also the Holy Cross Chamber Orchestra in scenes from Mozart’s Clemenza di Tito and Coronation Mass.

For over a decade, the late Stephen Williams regularly sang with several of Boston’s most celebrated choral ensembles, including the Handel & Haydn Society and Cantata Singers.
