Harmony Of The Seas Tragic Incident 2024
Harmoney of the Seas is an Oasis-class cruise ship. It had been built by STX France at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, for Royal Caribbean International.
Likewise, the ship is the fourth largest passenger ship in the whole world.
In December 2012, Royal Caribbean International ordered the Harmoney of the Seas to be built as the third Oasis-class cruise ship.
On September 8th, 2024, a tragic incident had been reported.
A twelve-year-old had been on the balcony on the 5th floor of the Central Park area of the ship. Without anyone’s notice, the victim fell head-first to the ground from the balcony.
The medical experts on the ship immediately rushed to him and tried their best to save the teenager.
Unfortunately, the health of the victim had already been fragile by then, and the child did not survive.
The victim’s family was reportedly on the cruise at the time of the incident. Likewise, they were supposed to be back home for a birthday celebration.
They sadly had to return home grieving for their child.
Speculations On The Demise Of The 12-Year-Old
There has been several speculations about the departure of the 12-year-old till now.
While many on the ship assumed that it would be impossible for a child to fall accidentally from the balcony, others assumed that something caused the child to fall.
Similarly, few who claim to have been on the ship at the time of the incident claim that the child was above two chairs and was doing something he should not have been doing.
Several others also assumed that the victim’s actions were rather intentional and not an accident. Few passengers also reported that the teenager had been horse-playing with his friends.
However, it has not yet been proven as to how the child must have fallen and what may have happened to him before he fell.

Harmony Of The Seas Closed Down Till 12
There had to be an investigation from the ship’s side about the safety of the passengers and the cruise members had been devoting their time to the same since the accident.
The ship remained closed till 12 PM after the incident.
The authorities informed passengers who were to board the ship at any given time of the day to attend only after 3 PM. Similarly, the guests were all asked to check in and be onboard by 3:30 PM.

I was on the ship when it happened and I saw the very sad after math. I do have to say that it would be very difficult to just fall by accident on these balcony’s, the railings are decently high up, but I have heard many different rumors. This was a tragedy and I’m sending prayers to the family.
We were on the ship at this time and praying for the family. Sad ordeal. The child fell onto the 8th floor (Central Park) from the 14th. The cruise staff were very professional and acted extremely fast.
Prayers for the first responder’s.
My family and I saw the incident unfold right before us as we were looking down into Central Park from the pool deck. We did not see whether he jumped or was playing around. We have been praying for his family ever since. The RC staff did indeed act very professionally and made an attempt to resuscitate the child.
Also on board at the time of the incident. Our room was one floor below and a few doors down.
It is absolutely heart breaking for the family.
It had rained that afternoon and the balcony’s were damp. As many mentioned it would be difficult to fall if you are stand on the ground, but if on the chairs or wet table top anything is possible.
My heart goes out to the family, RC staff, the people who were just enjoying the last evening on the boat and witnessed the accident. May God comfort these people.
