A devastating crash on Highway 27 near Center Point Road in Walker County, Georgia, has left two young lives lost and a community shattered.

The fatal collision, which occurred on April 15, 2025, at 4:02 p.m., involved three vehicles and resulted in the d*aths of two LaFayette High School students, including junior Brennon Beavers, a well-known baseball player.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Toyota Tacoma was heading south on GA-1 when it suddenly swerved into the northbound lanes, colliding head-on with a Jeep Renegade before overturning.

A Nissan Rogue also became involved in the crash when it tried to avoid the impact but struck the rear driver’s side of the Tacoma.

The drivers of both the Tacoma and Renegade tragically died at the scene.

The passenger in the Renegade, believed to be the brother of the female LaFayette High student who also passed, was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital in critical condition.

A Community In Mourning

The victims, both students of LaFayette High School, have left behind a grief-stricken school and hometown.

Brennon Beavers was a standout baseball player known for his athleticism and warm spirit.

Friends and family described him as a bright, kind-hearted young man with a deep love for his sport and community.

One family friend shared:

“Today our community lost a great kid… He comes from a great family full of great people. I greatly enjoyed spending time around them and their son those two summers. Hug your kids tight tonight. Love on ’em. Never know when it might be the last time.”
