Craig Jones Arrested? What Happened To Him?

Another marketing strategy?

Key Takeaways

  • Craig Jones was removed from FloSports headquarters, sparking debate over whether it was real trespassing or marketing.
  • Jones claimed “massive miscommunication,” while FloSports referred the incident to authorities.
  • The BJJ community is divided between concern and belief that this is Jones’ latest promotional stunt.

Craig Jones, the popular Australian grappler, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt competitor, and coach, has been rumored to have been arrested for trespassing. But is this really real or just another one of his infamous marketing ploys?

Footage surfaced online showing Jones being escorted out of the FloSports headquarters by security personnel, sparking immediate reactions across the grappling world.

The video spread like wildfire with thousands of views on Instagram, but its truth remains foggy.

What Actually Happened?

Jones addressed the footage in a short video posted on his social channels late yesterday, telling fans:

“Quick update guys, everything’s totally fine. There’s been a massive miscommunication. I’ll be able to update you guys tomorrow. My lawyer said I can’t speak any further about this, but I’m okay.”

Though brief, his statement left more questions than answers.

Meanwhile, CJI reporter Alex Wendling released a separate update, revealing that multiple people, including Jones’ brother, tried reaching him after the video went live.

Wendling added that Seth (presumably Jones’ business partner Seth Belisle) is “handling everything,” but stopped short of sharing more, citing legal boundaries.

Wendling said,

“A lot of people have been reaching out to me checking on Craig… I doubt that he’ll have to spend the night in jail.”

FloSports didn’t hold back in their official response:

“While we respect humor, we cannot tolerate trespassing or disruptions to the workplace. We are reviewing the matter internally and have referred the incident to local authorities.”

That statement suggests the incident wasn’t entirely staged, or at least not appreciated by the company involved.

BJJ Community Reacts

Online, reactions ranged from genuine concern to complete amusement.

Fans flooded the comments with messages like “Free Craig” and “This guy is on another level of marketing.”

Even longtime rival Seth Daniels chimed in, writing:

“Craig teaching everyone how to market Jiu Jitsu.”

Others speculated that the video’s low-res, security-style filter was all part of the act.

One fan commented,

“Seems like Flo is learning how to market from @craigjonesbjj — well played to all.”

In fact, Jones himself has joked in the past:

“People will believe anything if you put a security camera filter on the video.”
